Cherry Ridge Township is located in Wayne County in northeastern Pennsylvania in the uppermost right hand corner of the state bordering New York. The township consists of approximately 22 square miles at an average elevation of 1,480 ft above sea level. Average rainfall is 40 inches per year with an average snowfall of 63 inches per year. The average low temperature (January) is 12.6 degrees with an average high (July) of 80.2 degrees. Cherry Ridge Township is relatively equidistant from both Manhattan and Philadelphia with each being approximately 2 � hours by car.

Township governance consists of a Board of Supervisors, a Zoning Board, and a Planning Board. Township supervisors hold a public meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. These meetings are held at the Township building on Route 191.
